The following results from the 2011 Armistice Day Shoot follow:
This shoot was sponsored by Shongum (and NJACC Member) Stan Gurski.
The great lunch
of Hot Dogs & Kielbasa, Kraut, Chili, and drinks, prepared by our Chef Joe Lutz worked out perfectly for the shoot.
We had under a dozen shooters, so we have some food for the freezer for the winter shoot.
Stan ran the line, and Tom Plante the scoring.
The weather was better than expected, but we had a small turnout. The day was crisp and clear,
and the shooting conditions were excellent. Tom Plante arrived about 9:15 with the target frames
that were stored at Bob Weis' home in Long Valley. Since a few of our members are Shongum members,
they alread had some frames out, and we only needed a few of ours.
Site-in went well. We only had ten shooters, but we still had entries in almost all our matches.
The rifle matches were completed by 12:30 when we broke for lunch. After lunch, we completed our
pistol matches.
This rifle matches were shot at 100 yards. As a result, we had no one shoot a perfect 10-Round
score, but we did have a one or two very good scores.
As usual, we all managed to eat very well and have a great time.
The remaining matches were won by Russ P (Doughboy US M1917), Andy G (Belleau Wood- '03 Sprinfield), and Rich G,
Central Powers Pistol- Luger and Allied Revolver-Webley .45)
Special thanks once again to the Shongum Sportsmen's Association who made this shoot posssibe.
